Hands down, my favorite place I have ever been to has been Switzerland. I have been twice and I loved it so much that I have decided to move there after graduating from Texas State University. Moving across the world sounds crazy, but hopefully after reading this blog you’ll begin to understand.
Switzerland was the first place I flew to on my own. It was the first vacation I ever paid for by myself. I was able to meet so many people my age, I was hosted by real Swiss people, so they showed me all of the “must-see” sights.
I had the opportunity to really see the culture and not just vacation on a resort of some kind. I have never tasted food so good, seen sights so breathtaking, felt air so cold, or experienced such a magical destination.
This photo was taken on the very first flight I had ever flown by myself. I departed from Dallas, Texas and was headed to Zurich, Switzerland. What I didn’t know then, was how much I would love Switzerland, and that after this trip I decided I was going to move there after graduation.
This photo was taken in the Swiss alps a couple days after I had arrived. Jet lag was crazy but it didn’t stop me from climbing this mountain.
This was my first meal in Switzerland, pizza. Although, I was amazed at how different the pizza was there versus back home in Texas. During this meal I learned that I was legal to drink at 18 years old, so I promptly ordered a beer.
If you ever go to Switzerland, check out Lucerne! This was one of my last stops while I was there. There was so much to do and see. Lucerne was great for pretty views.
This picture shows you one of my favorite things about Zurich during the winter. The Swiss hang these lights that they call “Lucy” all over the city. It took my breath away the first time I saw it, it makes the city even more magical.
